How to Generate a Storybook in Your Child's Mother Tongue (Hindi, Marathi & More)
By Grandma Jayshree

Step 1 — Visit the Story Creation Page
First things first, open your web browser and gently navigate to the Build Your Book 'create' page. Think of this as stepping into a magical library where you're the author. Don't worry, it's designed to be very user-friendly, even for those of us who remember rotary phones!
This is your starting point for crafting a unique story tailored just for your little one.
💡 Grandma's tip: Keep your child's favourite characters or themes in mind as you begin – it helps spark ideas!
Step 2 — Enter Your Child's Details
Once you're on the creation page, you'll see fields to enter your child's name and age. Go ahead and type in your little one's name, like 'Meera' or 'Rohan', and select their age. You can even choose their gender if you wish for the story to be specifically tailored.
This step ensures the story truly feels personal, making your child the hero or heroine of their own adventure.
Step 3 — Select Your Desired Language
Now, for the most exciting part for us! Look for the 'Language' dropdown menu. Here, you'll find a wonderful selection of Indian languages like Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Gujarati, Bengali, and many more among our 16-language story generation options. Choose the language that resonates most with your family and your little one's heart.
Selecting your child's mother tongue makes the story deeply relatable and helps foster a love for their linguistic heritage, especially for our NRI angle families abroad.
💡 Grandma's tip: If you're unsure, pick the language your child hears most often at home or from grandparents. It builds the strongest connection.
Step 4 — Provide a Story Idea or Theme
Next, you'll see a space to describe what kind of story you'd like. Be as simple or as detailed as you wish! You could say, 'A story about a brave little girl who finds a lost puppy during Diwali' or 'A story about a boy learning to share his toys'. The more context you give, the better the story.
This is where your imagination, and your child's preferences, truly bring the story to life.
Step 5 — Generate and Review Your Story
With all the details filled in, simply click the 'Generate Story' button. In a few moments, a brand new, unique story will appear, written in your chosen language! Read through it. Does it capture the essence you envisioned? You can always tweak your prompt and generate again if you want a different take.
This quick generation allows you to experiment and find the perfect narrative that will enchant your little one.
Step 6 — Personalise and Save Your Creation
Once you're happy with the text, you can move on to customise illustrations. Choose styles that match your child's taste – perhaps bright, cheerful colours for a younger child, or more detailed scenes for an older one. When everything is just right, save your story. It will be ready to read, share, or even print!
Saving your story means you can revisit it anytime, creating a growing library of personalised tales in your mother tongue.
💡 Grandma's tip: Consider printing it out to add to your child's physical bookshelf. There's nothing quite like holding a book!
